scorch mark on engine lid is a nice “patina” touch... they don’t get much more “survivor-y” than that.

I have no problem with “earned” patina, like these scorch marks or all the rock chips on my M3. Those have stories or miles to go with them.
I have a big problem with simulated or forced patina, like the rusty hood trend that was going on for a while.
